The spectacular location of the Hörnli hut. Climbing the Matterhorn is normally a two-day event. The first day consists of the hike from Zermatt (1620m) to the Hörnli hut (3260m). Mountain walkers can even go as far as the Hörnli hut - for a taste of the romance of the full ascent. A mountain guide is highly recommended for the ascent itself.
