When to Go ?

It is worth noting pricing and availability varies according to the following seasons:

bulletHigh Season - Christmas to New Year, Mid-February to End-March.

European holidays fall within these periods. Zermatt is a busy village but thankfully, without cars, it never feels overcrowded. Accommodation is at a premium. Ski runs & lifts are busier, although it is still possible to avoid queues. Snow cover is generally superb. Nightlife is excellent. To avoid disappointment, please book as far as possible in advance for high season.

bulletMid Season - January to Mid-February, Mid-June to mid-September.
Mountain lifts are very often 'walk' or 'ski-on'. In the winter period snow conditions are normally excellent. In the summer the village streets are bustling with walkers, climbers and sightseers. It is highly recommended to book ahead for this season.

bulletLow Season - Mid-September to Mid-December, Mid-April to Mid-June.
Between summer and winter seasons village life is subdued and accommodation can be found at a bargain. Snow is often still very good - especially on the extensive higher runs. All ski areas are open from late November until late April, and the largest glacier ski area in Europe is open all year. November is the quietest month and many businesses close then for annual holidays.
